Location: Germany (Preference for Berlin or Munich)

We are currently seeking a Head of Sustainability for a fast-growing infrastructure firm in Germany. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the sustainability strategy of a company that is at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure development.

This is a pivotal role that will evolve with the firm, contribute to the commercial success of the business, drive operational benefits, and establish an industry-leading ESG reporting program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the company's sustainability strategy, with a focus on embedding ESG principles and driving decarbonization initiatives.

  • Work directly with the CEO to integrate sustainability into all areas of the business, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.

  • Lead sustainability projects across various infrastructure sectors, ensuring alignment with both regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Act as a key liaison between private equity stakeholders and the internal teams, driving the business towards long-term sustainable growth.

  • Establish and manage a group-wide sustainability performance reporting and monitoring system ensuring alignment with best practice.

  • Coordinate the production of the ESG and sustainability elements of the Annual Report, as well as support the production of the Annual Report itself.

Key Qualifications:

  • Full fluency in German is required.

  • At least 8 years of experience in sustainability within consulting, engineering, infrastructure or a related field.

  • A track record of working with Executive teams, including CEO and CFO.

  • Proven ability to lead sustainability initiatives, particularly within a growing business.

  • Experience working with private equity-backed companies is an advantage.

  • Experience leading an ESG/sustainability reporting program, providing guidance on non-financial reporting regulations such as TCFD and CSRD to the business.
