Head of Climate

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of sustainability & climate? Acre is working with a leader in the financial services sector to recruit an exceptional Head of Climate. The aim of the role is to oversee the development and delivery of our client's climate strategy and framework to meet its climate ambition.

About the Role

This highly visible and impactful role will lead the development and implementation of a Group-wide climate strategy. You will be at the forefront of setting and delivering climate-related KPIs, metrics, and targets, while championing sustainability across the organisation. You will work alongside senior leadership to integrate climate into business decision-making, create innovative solutions, and position the organisation as a global thought leader in the space.

Purpose of the Role

• To lead on the Group's climate-related target setting refresh and implementation and oversight of climate metrics reporting

• To create a strong leadership culture with expert knowledge, thought leadership and internal technical expertise on climate, and more broadly the Sustainability Ambition to support the wider climate colleagues.

• Subject Matter Expert lead for Group on Decarbonisation, Adaptation & Resilience Strategy, Just Transition Strategy

• To deliver TPT aligned transition plan and any new underlying enabling projects/activities

• To lead development of Group frameworks to deliver the strategic impacts

• To deliver climate/nature related partnerships development and delivery

About You

Our client is seeking an experienced climate leader with a passion for creating impactful change. You will bring:

• Recognised leadership and/or expertise in climate, including leading climate initiatives within an organisation or on behalf of clients.

• Deep experience built in climate-focused technical delivery relevant for the financial services sector and developing and setting climate strategies for organisations.

• Deep expertise of climate-related strategy, governance, risk and impact management, and metrics and targets; and associated frameworks and guidance

• Strong expertise and experience of climate-related data, tools and modelling
