Key Responsibilities
-
Take strong ownership in the design of their high voltage ESS system, from the conceptual stage to final design, testing and manufacturing.
-
Use CAD software such as SolidWorks to develop 3D CAD models of equipment structures and internal component layouts. Perform FEA analysis to determine compliance, seismic requirements, shipping standards, and other mechanical requirements.
-
Perform thermal heat transfer analysis and simulation for thermal management of the battery system.
-
Develop and manage subsystem and component requirements.
-
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, controls, electronics, logistics and manufacturing teams and external parties such as suppliers or contract manufacturers.
-
Promote and participate in a culture of rapid prototyping and testing.
-
Foster a collaborative team spirit and a proactive attitude. No task is too big or too small.
Key Skills and Requirements
-
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
-
5 years of experience designing mechanical products
-
Strong fundamentals in mechanical and thermal engineering
-
Extensive use of commercial CAD and PLM software. Familiarity with FEA and other common CAE practices
-
Experience with the design and manufacturing of medium to high-volume products
-
Hands-on prototyping, validation, and testing experience
-
Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and leveraging technology to drive positive environmental impact
-
Willingness and ability to travel 20% of the time
-
Eligibility to work in Europe
