Acre has been retained by an innovator in direct air CDR technology to recruit a Vice President of Commercial, reporting into the C-Suite.

Our client is a Series A start-up that has just closed a sizeable round of investment and is using this capital to develop multiple facilities across the country for which this person will secure offtake. Their solution tackles some of the biggest challenges DAC faces in large-scale deployment using more abundant base materials and much lower overall energy consumption.

The VP Commercial will lead the overall sales and business development strategy for the organization and will be the most senior commercial executive in the business. They will be tasked to build relationships across known buyers (registries, large industries, and tech) as well as finding new markets for sales. Although this is a strategic role, a large portion of this will be direct outbound sales, driving engagement with large corporate and industrial clients to ultimately secure offtake for thousands of credits over the next few years.

Key Success Criteria:

  • It is essential that this person has a deep knowledge of the global market for carbon credits & offsets including the policy landscape for permanent removals.

  • This is a senior sales role and as such this person must have a long track record of success in a direct sales capacity. This experience could have been in another industry before you transitioned into the carbon space.

  • Experience selling and or communicating highly technical products and processes to a wide audience.

  • Passion and drive to help scale an early-stage organization.

Their solution is proven with one site already in operation and they are beginning deployment are two further facilities. This, therefore, is a chance to get a good volume of deals done and make a real impact, with the ability to sell credits at a price point that we know to be attractive to buyers in the market.
