Acre has partnered with an early-stage startup in the Direct Air Capture industry that is co-locating DAC sites to enhance existing industrial gas supply streams. The business case for what they are doing is sound, and their impact goes far beyond just capturing CO2.
Their technology has been proven in the lab (TRL 4) and they are now making the push to developing their first pilot scale system. Resultantly, the team needs an exceptional process simulation expert to play a key role in the design and development of their pilot and next-generation facilities.
You'd be responsible for:
Developing robust process simulation models to determine the techno-economic viability of new designs
Contributing to the design of their pilot plant and first commercial faciliity
Supporting the design and build out of their lab, and continouslyrun experiments to further prove out their technology
You'd bring to the table:
A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (MS/PhD preferred) with 3-7 years of relevant experience (research/post-doc experience counts)
Expertise in using Aspen Plus to model air handling or gas processes (chemical process modelling is interesting too)
Experience developing processes from scratch (Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Drawings, etc.)
Experience working with laboratory-scale or pilot-scale equipment is a plus
If you want to work for a startup developing a novel carbon capture technology that has immediate pathways to value creation in industrial manufacturing, please apply now with a copy of your resume.
