Are you passionate about sustainability and skilled at crafting compelling ESG narratives? Do you want to drive meaningful change from within a global industry leader?
This is an opportunity to take ownership of sustainability reporting at Bodycote, the world's largest provider of heat treatment and specialist thermal processing services. Bodycote's work enhances the performance, durability, and efficiency of metal and alloy components across the automotive, aerospace & defence, energy, and general industrial sectors. With a broad external customer base, this role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.
Why Bodycote?
Sustainability is central to Bodycote's business strategy. By extending the lifespan of critical components, its thermal processing services reduce environmental impact. For example, Bodycote's processes can lower emissions from thermal processing by up to 60% compared with customers' in-house operations.
With over 165 locations across 22 countries, Bodycote is a global leader in the industry, committed to sustainability with a Science Based Targets initiative-approved goal of reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 28% by 2030. In this role, you will be part of a company making measurable progress, where sustainability is a driver for business success.
As the Sustainability Reporting Lead, you will:
Lead ESG Reporting - Oversee the full ESG reporting process, ensuring alignment with global standards and regulations. You will manage the entire reporting cycle, from data collection and content development to writing, editing, and approvals, working with internal and external partners.
Ensure Compliance & Transparency - Stay ahead of evolving ESG regulations and maintain accurate disclosures in line with frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD. You will proactively track market trends and seek opportunities to enhance Bodycote's sustainability processes.
Improve ESG Ratings & Performance - Manage data collection and submissions to key sustainability ratings providers, including CDP, S&P Global, MSCI, Sustainalytics, and EcoVadis, helping to strengthen Bodycote's ESG performance.
Engage Stakeholders & Communicate Impact - Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop clear, engaging, and visually compelling reports. You will also create presentations and other materials to communicate key sustainability trends to internal and external audiences.
Reporting directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), you will partner collaboratively across the business, engaging with teams from health & safety, finance, communications, and legal to ensure an integrated approach to sustainability reporting.
What You'll Bring:
Sustainability Reporting Expertise - Proven experience in managing corporate sustainability reporting, with a strong understanding of ESG frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
Strategic & Hands-On Approach - Ability to lead initiatives independently while influencing stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Exceptional Communication Skills - Strong writing and storytelling abilities to create compelling sustainability narratives.
