Acre is partnering with a global automobile manufacturer in the search for an Assistant Manager, ESG Reporting Strategy. The role is based in the European Headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany.
Job mission:
As the Assistant Manager for ESG Reporting Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's sustainability journey. This position combines leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to ensure ESG reporting aligns with legislative, compliance, and strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and drive innovative initiatives that enhance the company's ESG impact across Europe.
Your responsibilities:
The following are the key tasks and responsibilities, but not limited to:
Drive the creation and execution of mandatory and voluntary ESG reporting strategies, ensuring full compliance with evolving regulations such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and others on the horizon.
Manage the ESRS Gap Closure process for the organisation, its European subsidiaries, and manufacturing sites, leading to the publication of the Annual Sustainability Report.
Serve as the key driver of the ESRS and EU Taxonomy gap closure project plan, ensuring timely, high-quality, and auditable deliverables from all cross-functional stakeholders. Provide clear guidance, templates, and best practices to internal teams and global headquarters.
Act as the primary liaison between internal departments, regional subsidiaries, the European manufacturing site, headquarters, and external consultants.
Oversee the accurate and timely collection, analysis, and management of sustainability data using ESG software. Facilitate user onboarding and training for the platform.
Work closely with internal departments, manufacturing sites, HQ, and National Sales Companies (NSCs) to align targets and activities, ensuring ongoing compliance and consistency.
Oversee ESG auditing processes, ensuring compliance with global standards and a commitment to best practices.
Lead the development of the Annual Sustainability Report, in collaboration with an external partner, for publication in Q1 2026.
Collaborate with internal and external expert stakeholders to align the sustainability report with ESRS requirements, legal standards, brand values, and auditing criteria.
Lead all ESG auditing activities and ensure clear adherence to process and standards.
Your skills and experience:
Education:
Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a related position or specialisation
Prior hands-on experience in corporate sustainability disclosures and due diligence, including in consulting or financial services.
Strong background in managing complex cross-functional projects with minimal oversight.
Automotive industry experience is a plus.
Skills:
Proficiency with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, GRI, TCFD)
Subject-matter expertise in sustainability topics (preferable: GHG emissions, circular economy, human rights, supply chain ESG), including related EU regulations.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are an advantage.
