A day in the life

As the Senior Vendor Renewable Energy Manager in the Responsible Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for the activation oflululemon's supplier-facing climate and renewable energy strategy to ensure lululemon achieves their Be Planet Impact Agenda climate goals and meets or exceeds industry expectations. You will work closely with lululemon's climate strategy and sourcing teams as well as their vendors to drive scope 3 emissions reductions through renewable energy procurement, participate in cross-industry initiatives to identify and implement renewable energy opportunities, and advocate for frameworks that offer to increase the renewable energy adoption and provide incentives for renewable energy development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Scope 3 emissions reduction through vendor renewable energy projects and procurement

  • Ensure vendors deliver against lululemon's renewable energy targets and program requirements

  • Understand and solve for the on-the-ground implementation challenges and identify and implement further emissions reduction opportunities in partnership with vendors

  • Represent lululemon in external forums related to renewable energy procurement, programs and initiatives

  • Align with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure renewable energy program is in concert with lululemon's business direction across countries of manufacture, production facilities and long-range planning

  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments in renewable energy technologies

  • Advocate for renewable energy solutions and adoption in the textile industry supply chain with various stakeholders (incl. governments, industry associations, climate NGOs, activation partners etc.)

  • Analyze data and latest trends in manufacturing renewable energy work including corporate and non-governmental programming, and evolving renewable energy technologies and regulations, to continuously improve the program and to reduce Scope 3 emissions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in areas of environmental science, engineering or supply chain management.

  • 12+ years of experience working directly with supply chain partners on sustainability and climate strategy

  • Min 5 years of experience in driving renewable energy and climate projects and activating renewable energy procurement

  • Working knowledge of setting carbon targets and developing emissions reductions plans

  • Experience with working directly with supply chain partners on environmental assessments or production efficiency

  • Understanding of energy use at textile, apparel, footwear and related manufacturing facilities

  • Strong eye for detail, while being able to see the bigger picture

  • Proven ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices for improvement

  • Proven ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with external vendors to drive action
