Acre is currently working with a FTSE-listed manufacturing business to identify an Interim Circularity and Social Sustainability Manager on an initial 3-6 month basis.

As part of the ambition to become the leading sustainability brand in their sector, Acre is looking to identify an experienced individual to help drive forward this organisation's sustainability goals.

In this interim role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for Circularity and Social Due Diligence, key themes in the sustainability strategy and human rights guiding internal teams to meet ambitious targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Circularity:

  • Drive the achievement of circularity targets, including the replacement of plastic items with sustainable alternatives and ensuring all materials are recyclable or reusable

  • Proactively engage with internal teams to ensure progress is tracked and performance is on track to meet sustainability goals

  • Lead the 100% Recyclable & Reusable Working Group, and play a pivotal role in the Recyclability Working Group

  • Support the Circularity Steering Committee, prepare meeting materials, and ensure actions are taken in line with sustainability governance

Social Supply Chain Due Diligence:

  • Oversee and drive the company's social supply chain due diligence efforts, in line with sustainability targets

  • Manage Sedex and related SMETA audits, as well as internal Self-Assessment Questionnaires to enhance supply chain transparency

  • Lead the Modern Slavery & Human Rights Working Group, collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive impactful, long-term change

  • Take ownership of the Modern Slavery & Human Rights Committee, preparing meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring actions are followed through

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding supply chain practices and liaise with external agencies when necessary

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in circularity, sustainability, and supply chain due diligence, particularly with Sedex and SMETA audits

  • Strong understanding of data-driven measurement and performance tracking to meet sustainability targets

  • Leadership experience in managing cross-functional groups and driving initiatives to completion

  • Experience in modern slavery and human rights due diligence, with a focus on continuous improvement
