Group Accounting Manager

Acre is partnering with a fast-growing climate technology company to identify a highly skilled and motivated Group Accounting Manager to join its corporate team in Stockholm, Sweden. This role requires an experienced professional who will oversee quality assurance for accounting across all global subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and local regulations.

 

 

Our client is a climate technology company that develops and finances global agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and ecosystem restoration projects, creating climate and biodiversity co-benefits. They partner with farmers and landowners, globally, to implement nature-based solutions, scale climate funding, and enhance sustainable livelihoods through agro-commodity market linkages.

 

 

The position involves preparing consolidated financial reports for audits, implementing standardised accounting processes, and mentoring regional finance teams to enhance financial accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Assist in the implementation of a group consolidation system

  • Set up, process, prepare, and coordinate monthly financial closings with subsidiaries, ensuring accurate reporting in the consolidation system

  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and the group's annual report according to IFRS, identifying gaps between local GAAP and IFRS

  • Coordinate with external auditors for group audits

  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounting teams in subsidiaries, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and principles

  • Support Swedish financial reporting in collaboration with an offshore accountant and external third-party providers

  • Ensure quality assurance for accounting standards across multiple countries and subsidiaries

  • Take a hands-on, operational role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of global financial processes

  • Support transfer pricing and double taxation assessments to ensure compliance with OECD practices

  • Assist in implementing internal controls to meet group audit requirements

 

 

 

 

About the Ideal Candidate

 

 

  • Fluency in both Swedish and English (written and spoken) is required for Swedish reporting and global collaboration

  • Experience working in an unstructured company setup and leading transformation efforts to establish structured accounting processes

  • Experience implementing consolidation tools is a plus

  • Hands-on approach to operational accounting tasks, willing to support daily accounting activities in subsidiaries

  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or similar role in an international company

  • Broad expertise in Accounting and Financial Control processes in an international context, particularly with IFRS

  • Experience working with both global organisations and startups/scale-ups

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • A university or equivalent degree in accounting

  • 10+ of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or a similar field

  • Strong understanding of Swedish K3 and IFRS regulations

  • A proactive, hands-on approach, taking full ownership of financial processes from reporting to execution

  • Adaptability in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to embrace change and improve processes

  • A forward-thinking mindset, bringing new ideas and digitisation initiatives to enhance efficiency

Based in New Jersey, the Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for

 

  • Owning the entire project lifecycle for multiple projects at once from cradle-to-grave meaning you will lead various internal engineering and external EPC vendors from first design discussions through construction and commissioning.

  • Owning project deliverables, conceiving engineering work orders and owning the timely execution of projects

  • Identifying, managing and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle

  • Provide technical support and leadership over a cross-functional team of process engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers and structural engineers

 

 

To be effective, you'll need

 

  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of project engineering experience, three of which should be in a lead position focused on cradle-to-grave plant execution.

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams comprised of internal engineering, and vendors.

  • Experience managing Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors is required.

  • Expertise in project management, risk management and construction management is required.

  • Ideally have experience developing plants incorporating one or more of the following technologies: Hydrogen (H2), Steam Methane Reformers (SMR), Autothermal Reformers (ATR), Blue Hydrogen, Ammonia (NH3) synthesis, sustainable aviation fuel, green Methanol (CH3OH), Direct Air Capture, Carbon Sequestration or CO2 utilization technologies.

In this role, you'll collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, shaping the future of the energy transition. You will support their Climate Change Group, consisting of over 40 members, and you will set and monitor standards to decarbonise the sector.

 

 

Reporting to the Climate Director you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders- Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders, consultants, and members to facilitate timely reports, publications, and key deliverables.

  • Lead member engagement- Keep members informed about Climate Change Group activities and actions, while also responding to member queries and providing external resources.

  • Coordinate and execute member group meetings- Organise and support both virtual and face-to-face meetings, webinars, and external workshops, with all member body organisations, ensuring smooth logistics and communication.

  • Lead Data Analysis- Analyse data from all member participation to assess progress against targets and identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Develop content - working closely with the communications team to develop internal and external communications materials to keep website content up to date.
