JOB DESCRIPTION
The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol (Trust Protocol) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications & Marketing Manager to join their team. As they continue to grow, they need an individual who can provide exceptional internal coordination and marketing support.
The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day communications and marketing activities, manage social media platforms, maintain the website, and provide robust internal communication support. The candidate will report to the executive director and management team.
The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is the voluntary sustainability program for U.S. cotton growers, aligned with the U.S. National Cotton goals and developed under multiple industry frameworks. The Protocol brings quantifiable goals and measurement in six key areas, namely: land use, soil carbon, water management, soil loss, greenhouse gas emissions and energy efficiency. Using sophisticated data collection and independent third-party verification, the protocol will give brands and retailers the assurance they and their customers need that they are sourcing responsibly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee day-to-day internal communications
Create engaging internal content such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, newsletters, etc.
Manage our social media platforms
Maintain and update our website, ensuring it reflects current messaging
Provide internal communication support, facilitating clear and effective communication within the organization.
Collaborate with various teams and the agency communication partner to gather information and streamline communication processes.
Monitor industry trends and make recommendations for enhancing our communication and marketing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the sustainability, agricultural or textiles sector (7 years +).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media management.
Strong knowledge of website management and updating.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience managing an agency team/relationship.
Passion for sustainability and the mission of the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol.
