Acre is supporting a client in the food and beverage sector in identifying a Climate Manager for an initial 12-month contract.
Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability and acting as a subject matter expert, you will provide strategic advice on decarbonising the business, enhancing water stewardship, and setting waste reduction ambitions.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across functions, engaging with global stakeholders at all levels. You will champion the carbon reduction programme, inspiring colleagues to contribute to the organisation's Climate Net Zero objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of climate net-zero ambitions, co-lead the low operations working group, and deliver regular updates to the group executive
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and reduce carbon emissions across direct and indirect operations
Lead the development and finalisation of water strategies and define measurable stewardship targets
Develop and implement waste minimisation strategies
Work with the Sustainable Development team on carbon modelling and reduction programmes
Prepare internal and external sustainability communications, such as annual reports, quarterly business reviews, and CDP questionnaires
Ensure compliance with external reporting standards, perform benchmarks, and assess emission factor quality for scopes 1, 2, and 3
In partnership with external consultants, you will develop carbon footprint analyses and reduction roadmaps
Track and report on the impact of reduction projects on overall carbon performance
Contribute to strategic planning for sustainability objectives, including carbon, water, and waste
Oversee the development of reference documents and processes for data collection, calculation, and verification
Manage sustainability reporting systems, ensuring accuracy during external assurance processes, and driving continuous improvement in reporting methods
Qualifications and Education:
The ideal candidate will hold a degree (Bachelor's or MSc) in Engineering (Civil, Bio, or Chemical), Agro-Science, or a related sustainability discipline
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in carbon auditing and reporting, including frameworks such as GHG Protocol Corporate/Product, net zero, and carbon neutrality
A proven track record in delivering sustainability programmes and achieving targets.
Proficiency in environmental impact assessments (e.g., carbon footprint, LCA) and risk assessments (e.g., TCFD).
Advanced analytical skills, with experience navigating complex datasets
Proficiency in IT tools and reporting platforms, such as Excel and carbon reporting systems
