Acre is proud to partner with Mars in their search for a Social Impact Director. This is a remote role that can be based in the Western Hemisphere or Europe.

The team is looking for a strategic and results-driven Social Impact Director to join our team. The Social Impact Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's social impact strategy, driving data-driven decision-making, identifying breakthrough impact opportunities, and adapting solutions proven in adjacent industries or supply chains to create value for Mars. This individual will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across the organization and external partners to drive impact by helping those in our value chain to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide world-class subject-matter expertise, strategic guidance and thought-leadership to the business in key focus areas of living income and wages, gender equity, responsible recruitment, ending child laborand/or the intersections between environmental and social sustainability.
Lead the identification, evaluation, and cultivation of breakthrough impact opportunities, leveraging insights from adjacent industries or supply chains and adapting proven solutions into the Mars context.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate social impact considerations into business processes, product development, and decision-making frameworks.
Establish, develop and evolve social impact KPIs that evaluate impact and effectiveness in a business context and suggest data-driven recommendations for improvements. Develop standards and guidance for implementing these KPIs.
Translate activities into meaningful KPIs and supporting segments inunderstanding how to measure and manage performance and impact.
Drive thought leadership and innovation in the field of social impact, staying abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for collaboration.
Represent the company in external forums, conferences, and initiatives related to social impact, building Mars' reputation as a leader in social impact.
Inspire and mobilize employees at all levels of the organization to actively engage in social impact efforts and contribute to Mars' collective mission.
Liaise with corporate reporting, corporate affairs, legal and segments in annual reporting cycles.
Experience:
12+ years of experience in social impact, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, or related fields, with a track record of driving breakthrough impact and adapting solutions from adjacent industries or supply chains.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
Proven expertise on knowing how to measure and improve social impact in complex supply chains
Experience creating human-centred programs, pilots, and initiatives that drive significant impact at scale
Ability to translate social impact concepts into business language.
Proven ability to cultivate and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including nonprofits, governments, and corporate partners.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision and engage others in its realization.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and a willingness to take calculated risks to achieve ambitious goals.
Strong line manager capabilities with experience developing strong teams
