Acre is partnering with an impact investor to identify a Senior MEL and ESG Lead Officer. In this impactful role, you will lead initiatives that support measurable improvements in sustainability and social responsibility across global projects. About the Organisation

This organization manages two impact-focused funds-carbon and sustainable sourcing-dedicated to advancing sustainability within rural communities and supporting smallholder farmers. With over 15 years of experience, the organization collaborates with corporations, brands, and NGOs to deliver innovative, long-term solutions across regions, from Asia to Latin America.

What will you be doing in this role?

As the Senior MEL and ESG Lead Officer, you'll be integral to operational and strategic teams, directly reporting to the Head of Nature and Socio-Economic Impact Solutions. Working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders, you'll be implementing effective MEL frameworks, driving ESG practices, and fostering continuous learning across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MEL Framework Development: Design and implement comprehensive MEL frameworks tailored to nature-based solutions that align with both corporate and community needs.

  • Data Collection and Management: Oversee data collection methodologies and ensure accurate, timely reporting across all project sites.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct monitoring visits to evaluate project progress, and prepare detailed performance reports for key stakeholders.

  • Evaluation and Learning: Lead evaluation studies, document lessons learned, and facilitate workshops for knowledge sharing and improvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project teams, local communities, and partners to ensure active participation and capacity building in MEL practices.

  • Data Analysis and Visualization: Develop data visualization tools, including dashboards, to communicate project impact in accessible formats.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Produce high-quality reports, case studies, and impact documents, ensuring compliance with investor requirements.

  • Adaptive Management: Use MEL insights to refine project strategies and foster informed decision-making across initiatives.

  • Proven MEL Experience: Significant experience (10+ years) in designing and implementing MEL systems, particularly within agroecosystems or sustainable sourcing.

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of rural sociology, environmental science, and agro-ecosystems.

  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative analysis and the ability to communicate findings effectively.

  • Education: Master's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field; additional M&E certification is a plus.

  • Field Experience: Practical experience with smallholder farming or rural community projects, especially in developing regions.

  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English, with additional languages such as Spanish or Portuguese being a plus; proficiency in French is also desirable.

  • Location: Paris, France (within 2-3 hours by public transport).

  • Travel: Approximately 15% travel is required for project site visits and stakeholder engagement.
