Acre has partnered with a prominent global Private Equity style Real Estate investment firm in search of an experienced sustainability professional to lead execution, implementation, and strategy across Europe. This client is a global leader in real estate investment, with assets under management (AUM) exceeding $60 billion, primarily invested through equity and debt.

The Role:

The principal will engage with senior stakeholders in European investment teams and collaborate with global responsible investment leaders. In this role, a proactive and hands-on approach is essential to execute, implement, and advise on ESG matters. As part of a global team, you will help shape a roadmap that aligns with investors' interests and the firm's goals.

This role encompasses five main key responsibilities:

  • Program Integration

    • Oversee seamless integration of ESG principles into acquisition and development processes, collaborating closely with European investment teams.

    • Support ESG fund strategies to align with evolving regulations, market trends, and investor expectations.

  • Capital Raising & Investor Relations

    • Manage ESG inquiries, quarterly reports, presentations, and special requests from European clients, both existing and potential.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Supervise external consultants, review their deliverables, and project-manage engagements with internal directors and partners to ensure success.

  • Reporting

    • Play a crucial role in meeting regulatory reporting requirements under the European Union's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), including updating fund documents and fulfilling annual reporting obligations.

  • ESG Data Management

    • Efficiently handle ESG data and information requests from investors on a quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc basis, consolidating ESG data and preparing responses.

Required Skills, Background & Personal Attributes:

  • Ability and motivation to work independently while being an integral part of a wider team

  • Strong cross-team collaboration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, a positive and outgoing nature, and the capacity to engage with diverse stakeholders.

  • A strong background in real estate, preferably from a fund perspective.

  • Experience in collaborating with various investment and asset management teams, who may not come from a sustainability background.

  • Success in this role will depend on direct involvement in all aspects of the responsible investment program.
