Policy and Impact Lead

Commonland are hiring a Policy and Impact Lead to manage, design, and implement strategies to achieve the team's purpose.

Commonland brings people together to restore landscapes and regenerate the earth. They are a nonprofit organisation contributing to the transformation of degrading landscapes into thriving ecosystems, communities and economies.

Key Responsibilities

The Policy and Impact Lead is part of the Policy and Impact team, a team of 3 with expertise in policy advocacy, impact management, and research coordination.

​

In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing and leading the Policy and Impact strategy

• Supporting the Policy and Impact activities:

• Policy influencing

• Developing advice for European, and international decision-makers with regard to landscape restoration policy

• Build evidence:

• Oversee Commonland's MEL approach, and design and introduce an evaluation culture

• Analyse scientific evidence relating to major policy issues

• Stakeholder management - draw on a strong network of complex stakeholders, including researchers, practitioners and institutions

• Build the team:

• Rely on, and develop the existing team members

Key Requirements

• Academic background in research, sustainability, ecology, etc…

• Experience in impact measurement, policy advocacy, and team leadership

• Demonstratable understanding of policy development in relation to landscape restoration

• Stakeholder engagement and management skills

• Strong network with relevant institutions and policy actors
