The Role:

We are seeking an Interim Operations and Development Director to step in during a period of absence. This leadership position is available for an initial term of 4-6 months, starting February 2024. The role offers a chance to oversee operations, financial planning, team leadership, and organisational strategy within a purpose-driven and agile environment. Due to our client being based across various countries in Europe including Germany and Belgium, this role can be worked remotely from inside the EU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient, effective, legally compliant and sustainable business processes.

  • Co-lead the fundraising team and fundraising coordination

  • Leading financial planning and collaborating with the finance team.

  • Manage cross-team resources and resource management with regard to project resources, performance and team capacity and availability

  • Staff management with regard to team well-being, personal development and remuneration, including managing recruitment processes and recruitment needs

  • Contributing to strategic development and organisational growth.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience in team leadership and managing organisational operations.

  • Experience in leadership roles within the non-profit sector or SMEs.

  • A proven ability to balance immediate needs with long-term development goals.

  • Experience mentoring and coaching staff at all levels.
