Are you a seasoned ESG Technical Manager with expertise in ESG audits?
We are working with a top-tier firm of chartered accountants and business advisers committed to creating great relationships with their clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and refining their ESG audit and assurance methodologies, focusing on environmental, social, and governance matters. You will work closely with their ESG Audit team, providing technical support and guidance to ensure their clients meet the highest standards of ESG compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Continually refine audit and assurance methodology to consider where ESG-related risks might be concentrated in a client's business, and how these risks might impact the financial statements. Translate these into ISA-compliant work programmes and working paper templates for use on financial statement audits.
Apply intuition, technical experience, business understanding and an inquisitive mindset to review ESG procedures performed on financial statement audits and ESG assurance engagements under ISAE 3000/ISSA 5000 (once finalised)
Work with the ESG Audit Manager on operational and strategic assignments, splitting the workload of audits within the technical team
Support the delivery of CSRD implementation programmes and other technical advisory engagements with large listed and unlisted groups, collaborating with International colleagues across the EU and North America
Achieve mastery in technical ESG-related requirements such as UK Climate-related Financial Disclosures (s414CB of Companies Act 2006), the Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) framework, standards issued by the ISSB, European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) issued by EFRAG, the Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) framework, GRI, CDP et al.
Support the Sustainability & ESG Technical Director & ESG Audit manager by attending or leading client meetings and internal meetings where appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, or equivalent) with experience as an audit senior or assistant manager on financial statement audits.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a curiosity for sustainability matters and their impact on business.
