Are you passionate about driving sustainability and making a real impact on environmental, social, and governance initiatives? Acre is supporting a globally leading chemical manufacturer in the search for an ESG Specialist.

In this newly created role, you will play a vital part in analysing and managing ESG data, overseeing sustainability projects, and ensuring practices align with evolving regulatory frameworks. You will be working in a global Sustainability team, whilst also collaborating across internal functions and geographies to promote transparency, drive improvements, and support strategic decision-making in sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • ESG Data Management & Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report ESG data to support compliance and sustainability goals, including managing disclosures under frameworks like CSRD and getting involved with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data to assess environmental impacts and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Emissions & Sustainability Projects: Monitor and manage Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain, evaluate future sustainability scenarios to inform strategic decisions, and analyse and implement projects aimed at reducing emissions and enhancing energy efficiency.

  • Environmental Impact & Biodiversity: Conduct biodiversity assessments to evaluate the company's impact on ecosystems, mitigate environmental risks, and develop strategies to promote sustainable practices.

To excel in this role, you should bring a proven track record in sustainability project management and demonstrate strong expertise in this area. You will also benefit from having the following:

  • Education & Technical Expertise: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with additional training in corporate emissions, LCA calculations, and familiarity with ESG frameworks such as CSRD, GRI, or SASB.

  • Skills & Experience: Proven experience in regulatory environments, project management, ESG data analysis, sustainability reporting, and biodiversity assessments, along with proficiency in using tools like Power BI for technical data management.

  • Analytical Knowledge: Strong communication and analytical thinking skills, complemented by engineering knowledge applicable to energy conservation, manufacturing processes, and emissions reduction strategies.
