About the Role:

Acre is partnering with a growing and highly respected consultancy firm, seeking an Experienced ESIA / ESDD Consultant to support an expanding portfolio of work across Africa, Central Asia, and other emerging markets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, internationally focused team of ESG experts, dedicated to delivering high-impact, complex projects. If you have a passion for Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Due Diligence (ESDD) in the context of large-scale development, infrastructure, and financing projects, this could be the perfect role for you.

As an integral member of the consultancy team, you will be involved in managing critical projects for global financial institutions and developers, ensuring compliance with international environmental and social safeguards. You'll work on a wide range of sectors, providing invaluable insights and strategic guidance on sustainability and compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver international ESIA and ESDD projects, working alongside a variety of stakeholders including developers, lenders, NGOs, and local governments

  • Conduct in-depth environmental and social impact assessments and ensure robust mitigation strategies are in place

  • Contribute to strategic decision-making for projects, guiding clients through compliance, risk management, and best practices

  • Oversee the development and submission of detailed reports, ensuring alignment with international performance standards

  • Support business development efforts, contributing to proposal writing and the expansion of the consultancy's client base

  • Collaborate with the consultancy's wider team to support the delivery of ESG projects and contribute to their growth

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • A degree in a relevant environmental or social discipline (preferably a master's)

  • 5-12 years of relevant experience, with a focus on international ESDD and ESIA management

  • Strong understanding of IFC Performance Standards and international E&S regulatory frameworks

  • Experience managing ESIA and ESDD projects from both a developer and lender perspective

  • Proven track record in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills

  • A passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute to impactful, global projects

  • Permanent UK residency
