Acre has partnered with a cutting-edge clean energy and CCUS disruptor that has commercialized novel technology to transform existing utility-scale power production and clean fuel production. They are executing multiple global projects and are scaling their teams fast. As a result of their growth, there is a need to centralize their Process Controls / Automation Engineering division and they are looking for an accomplished visionary leader to come in and lead the automation team while building their commercial controls package.


Based in Houston, Texas, you'd be responsible for:

  • Owning all strategic product definition, design and development initiatives for the instrumentation and controls strategy.

  • Vendor selection and procurement - evaluating the cutting-edge of instrumentation and controls technology, and leading the external development projects said due diligence creates

  • Leading the cross-functional execution of integrating and commissioning said instrumentation and controls technology at demonstration and commercial scale

  • Implementing best practices regarding product lifecycle management (PLM) and configuration management to ensure that lessons learned are incorporated into new commercial designs

You'd have:

  • A B.S. in Electrical or Chemical Engineering (M.S.+ preferred) with 12-20 years of experience developing automation and instrumentation schemes for infrastructure-scale chemical or gas projects

  • Experience developing control systems for large plants in at least one of the following domains: Hydrogen, Steam Methane Reformers, Auto Thermal Reformers, Air Separation, Ethanol, Methanol, Gasification, Electrolysis, CO2 capture, RNG or LNG, Pressure swing adsorption, etc.

  • Expertise with Delta V DCS required

  • Experience with remote monitoring centers for a fleet of projects is a plus

  • Knowledge of safety and cybersecurity best practices is a plus
