Acre is working with a prominent global organisation in the financial services industry to recruit a Technical Nature Manager. About the Role

As the Technical Nature Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the organisation's ambitious Nature and Sustainability strategies. You'll lead technical analysis, develop metrics and tools, and spearhead nature-related projects to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of sustainable finance. You will work across diverse teams to implement innovative solutions and shape the organisation's nature-related governance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Drive nature-related projects, including risk and impact assessments, scenario analysis, and governance development, to support the organisation's sustainability goals.

  • Metrics and Frameworks: Develop and implement nature-related KPIs and metrics, leveraging frameworks such as TNFD, SBTN, and GFANZ, to embed sustainability across the business.

  • Nature-Based Solutions: Lead the evaluation of nature-based investment opportunities, offsetting strategies, and other initiatives aligned with the organisation's Nature ambition.

  • Collaboration and Governance: Act as a technical advisor across the organisation, working closely with senior stakeholders, sustainability leads, and external partners to integrate nature-related insights into decision-making.

  • Innovation: Design tools and methodologies to analyse and manage nature-related risks, impacts, and opportunities for investment, underwriting, and operational strategies.

  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver nature-related training programs for senior stakeholders to foster understanding and alignment across the organisation.

  • Representation: Represent the organisation in industry-leading forums and partnerships, ensuring the company is positioned as a thought leader in sustainability.


About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep expertise in nature-related issues, particularly within financial services or insurance sectors.

  • Proven experience using technical frameworks and tools like TNFD, SBTN, GFANZ, and ESG datasets.

  • A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of nature-related policies, regulations, and disclosures (e.g., ISSB, Kunming-Montreal GBF).

  • Exceptional project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex, interdisciplinary initiatives in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, including experience in training, stakeholder engagement, and representing organisations externally.

  • A proactive, agile mindset, comfortable with minimal direction and evolving challenges.

  • Technical qualifications in nature, climate, or financial modelling are highly desirable.
