A global impact platform is seeking an exceptional individual to join its new energy access-focused strategy to oversee the development and implementation of a technical assistance strategy. This role requires strategic leadership to implement a technical assistance programme which offers critical support to enhance impact of the strategy's portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute a robust technical assistance programme to support portfolio companies in maximizing impact through - among others:
Activities which do not meet the risk/return threshold of the strategy, its portfolio companies or its investors. Such as new high-impact products, services, geographies, etc.
Impact and sustainability activities, either required by the TA (e.g., reporting & 3rd party data input verification) or aligned with the ambition of the strategy to be a market leader (e.g. impact & sustainability best practices).
Value-add activities deemed critical to achieve and/or maximize the targeted impact (e.g., capacity-building, technical expertise) or to minimize potential unintended
Collaborate with portfolio and pipeline companies to identify specific needs and opportunities for technical support, working closely with the deal teams to assess impact potential.
Manage TA programme, including the approval process (e.g, memos submitted to the TA committee) and the administration (e.g., disbursement)
Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of technical assistance programs.
Regularly evaluate and report on the progress and outcomes of these programs to internal and external stakeholders (incl. TA donors).
Prepare materials for both the TA and PE Funds' Executive Boards, Strategic Advisory Board and for the fund's investor relations' team.
Support the delivery of Ecosystem-related activities as required (e.g., partnerships with key stakeholders in the energy ecosystem, publication of industry insights)
Experience, Qualifications and Attributes:
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in leading and implementing technical assistance programmes (incl. governance, disbursement processes, donors relations), preferably within the context of impact investing, energy access or related sectors.
In-depth understanding of the energy access sector in aforementioned geographies, including challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends.
Extensive experience managing third-party providers (e.g., consultancies, independent contractors, software vendors).
Previous exposure to private market investing and investment
Familiarity with the social impact landscape is
Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully implementing and delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.
A strategic thinker with the ability to conceptualise, creatively problemsolve and implement
Ability to work accurately and under pressure in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds and multiple deadlines.
Assertive self-starter who can operate effectively and autonomously across all areas, with the ability to drive forward and deliver results.
High degree of financial literacy with exceptional analytical
Willingness to travel
Desired:
Existing networks and relationships within the energy access or related
Understanding of financial models and mechanisms relevant to impact investing and technical assistance in emerging markets.
A university degree in a relevant field such as business or public administration, international development, or a related discipline.
A genuine passion for driving positive social and environmental
Ability to work in English (required), fluency in another relevant language a plus (e.g., French, Hindi, Portuguese, Swahili).
