Head of Sustainability, 12 Month FTC

Acre is currently working with a market-leading utilities business to identify a Head of Sustainability in an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

Our client generates deployable, renewable power and energy. You will be joining a team of innovators, business champions and leaders. Enabling a Net Zero transition for low-cost energy for all and delivering on ambitious efforts to decarbonise the planet for our collective future.

Day to day:

• Drive the carbon reduction performance for climate-positive outcomes

• Ownership and delivery of nature-positive programmes

• Provide leadership and direction for all elements of sustainability across the assets

• Coordinate on company-wide carbon reporting and work collaboratively across the business units, supporting decarbonisation projects

• Provide functional guidance to business unit teams and work with subject matter experts on carbon accounting methodologies and reduction targets

• Drive continuous improvement relating to sustainability performance and reporting, challenging existing practice and actively seeking ways of achieving greater outcomes and leaner delivery

What you'll bring:

• Experience in sustainability, nature and carbon management

• Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of government strategy, current and pending environmental legislation

• You'll be able to demonstrate strategic thinking, alongside highly developed communication, influencing and collaboration skills
