The Taskforce on Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD or Taskforce) is a global initiative involving investors, businesses, civil society, policymakers and regulators working together to co-create a global framework for inequality and social-related disclosures.
Our client is looking to hire an exceptionally talented and experienced individual to join as Executive Director, running the operations of the Secretariat and providing strategic leadership and management of TISFD's workplan to ensure the delivery of this high-profile project.
What's the role?
The Executive Director will:
Build and oversee a talented and diverse Secretariat team to drive TISFD's Technical, Engagement, Learning, Communications, and Operations
Provide overall strategic direction and leadership for the Secretariat's staff
Ensure the Secretariat's management and operations are aligned with relevant regulations and good practices
Oversee disbursement of funds, and ensure the integrity of financial transactions, systems and reports prepared by TISFD's Secretariat
Lead the development, implementation and coordination of TISFD's strategic activities and programme in alignment with the workplan and guidance from the Steering Committee and Working Group
Support the Co-Chairs and Steering Committee by leading the effective execution of TISFD's workplan and technical scope document
Ensure timely delivery of TISFD milestones, including testing of TISFD's Framework and consultations before its launch
Together with the Co-Chairs, review and refine the draft governance rules to support the decision-making process
Oversee research and other technical work of the Secretariat in service to the WGs established by the Steering Committee
Ensure open communication and engagement across all stakeholders while adhering to best practices of co-creation
Develop and manage TISFD's membership and broader stakeholder engagement and support, including liaising with standard setters and policymakers and regulators
Qualifications for the Role
Essential:
A minimum of 15 years (with master's degree) and 17 years (with bachelor's degree) of experience in the public sector (national or multilateral, including UN), the private sector (non-governmental sector, corporate, financial) and/or academia or nonprofit sector is required
Understanding of financial markets and significant experience working in and/or engaging with the private corporate and/or finance sector
A genuine interest in and understanding of social and environmental sustainability, including an understanding of differing regional, stakeholder, and market perceptions of these issues globally
A proven track record of leading complex inclusive and equitable multi-stakeholder and multi-disciplinary programs/initiatives to successful outcomes, ideally within a global or international context
Experience in managing and reporting on complex multi-million-dollar programme budgets
Willingness to adopt multiple responsibilities (e.g., strategy, stakeholder engagement, project management, communications, fundraising, report writing, on-ground delivery)
Strong people management skills including the ability to facilitate and mediate constructive dialogue between people with conflicting viewpoints, setting clear deadlines, logically tackling problems, and setting priorities for the team
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with senior-level officials, partners, and influencers
Ability to represent multiple stakeholder groups, put aside personal biases (e.g., political, identity-based, etc.), and maintain a commitment to the balance of power across groups which fosters inclusivity and diversity
Excellent English written and oral communication skills, with a proven capacity to translate information and big ideas into actionable plans
A strong independent work ethic in addition to an ability to work as part of an agile and fast-moving team
Desirable:
Prior involvement with TNFD, TCFD, or a major standard-setting initiative.
In addition to English, ability to speak other languages.
