Better Cotton is the world's largest cotton sustainability initiative, working to transform the cotton industry to become more sustainable and equitable. Partnering with farmers, governments, and company supply chains, Better Cotton has positively impacted millions of livelihoods, aligning over 20% of global cotton production with its standards.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead Better Cotton at a pivotal moment in its journey. As the organisation's new CEO, you will oversee the execution of Better Cotton's 2030 strategy, spearheading efforts to scale its impact and adapt to evolving global sustainability challenges. You will lead a talented, multicultural team, drive operational and financial excellence, build global partnerships, and ensure that Better Cotton remains at the forefront of sustainability leadership. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader, capable of navigating complex global challenges, fostering collaboration, and driving strategic execution to strengthen Better Cotton's impact globally.

What you will bring:

  • Significant executive-level leadership experience in global, multicultural settings, with a proven track record of organisational growth and strategic execution.

  • Expertise in sustainability, international development, or commodities, with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics.

  • Financial acumen, including experience overseeing budgets and developing sustainable funding strategies.

  • Strong people management skills with the ability to lead collaboratively, inspire teams, and foster innovation.

  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills to effectively represent Better Cotton on a global stage.

  • A master's degree or equivalent experience in business, international development, or related fields.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK or Switzerland, with a willingness to travel internationally (up to 30%).
