Senior Carbon Verification Manager

Acre is partnering with Earthbanc to find an experienced Senior Carbon Verification Manager to support their tree-planting projects in Kenya and India. Working closely with the Executive team, you will be a go-to person for all things related to Carbon Project Development. In this role, you will be able to leverage your technical skills in carbon modelling (for afforestation/ reforestation projects), GHG sequestration, and emissions estimation, as well as acting as a confident project manager for Earthbanc's pipeline of carbon projects.

Who Are They Looking For?

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Technically lead and backstop ecosystem restoration projects throughout the whole project lifecycle

• Identify opportunities and conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of new carbon emissions reduction projects, as well as on behalf of clients

• Manage the pipeline of existing and new Carbon Development projects to ensure issuance of Carbon Credits on Verra, Regen Registry and Gold Standard, against potential or existing contracts

• Liaising with a wide range of external stakeholders, such as reforestation companies or NGOs, Indigenous groups and other landholders to create working relationships to develop carbon emissions reduction projects

• Use a full range of spatial (GIS), database, spreadsheet, programming and other tools to process, calculate, analyse and perform quality control on raw and finalised ecosystem restoration and carbon data

• Stay up-to-date on methodologies under third-party certification standards, tools, and remote sensing technologies

Requirements:

• Experience in carbon modelling for afforestation/ reforestation projects, GHG sequestration, emissions estimation, and reporting requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in carbon markets, both voluntary (VERRA & Gold Standard Methodologies), and to an extent, compliance market

• VVB Auditor ISO certification.

• Excellent understanding of Afforestation, Reforestation, and Agroforestry projects.

• Experience working with NGOs, government, and landowners.

• Ability to independently write carbon project scoping and feasibility reports, project management and implementation plans, project risk management plans, carbon and co-benefit monitoring plans and reports, carbon project cost and returns spreadsheets

• Able to travel regularly to spend time in the field (India in the main) and collaborate with partners to survey communities, and landscapes, and develop required carbon project development documentation for buyers and registries
