A key value add of the Copper Mark is for its participants to use the Assurance Framework to comply with market expectations where these are subject to stringent due diligence regulations. The purpose of this role is to further develop, maintain and manage the implementation of the responsible supply chain standards, assurance and services of the Assurance Framework.
The Assurance Framework houses the core activities of The Copper Mark, including the assurance process, training program, assessor management, and grievance mechanism. It draws from the Copper Mark standards, and feeds into the monitoring and evaluation, communications, and outreach activities.

In this role, you will support and lead on:
Overseeing the implementation of responsible supply chain assurance processes, including assessments and recognition requirements.
Developing and updating tools such as the JDD tool, environmental due diligence tool, and scrap risk assessment tool.
Ensuring consistent interpretation of standards across participants and assessors, working closely with the COO and Copper Mark team.
Managing day-to-day operations related to Responsible Sourcing criteria and the Joint Due Diligence Standard (JDD), including responding to inquiries and reviewing assessments.
Developing additional standards and compliance tools as needed for regulatory requirements.
Representing Copper Mark in industry discussions, working groups, and dialogues on responsible supply chains.
Overseeing the Due Diligence Working Group, including meeting facilitation and action implementation.
Experience and Qualifications:
Strong experience in auditing, designing, or implementing due diligence systems based on OECD Guidance for responsible mineral sourcing.
Deep understanding of due diligence regulations, industry schemes, and customer expectations.
Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
Proficiency in Excel-based tool development and stakeholder engagement for consensus-building.
Knowledge of ESG issues in mineral and metal supply chains, with experience in standard setting and stakeholder consultations; fluency in Spanish is a plus.
The position is based remotely and reports to The Copper Mark Chief Operating Officer. The position requires significant time zone overlap with Europe and good overlap with North and Latin America.
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in supporting Copper Mark participants to identify and make on-the-ground changes to their operations. Covering all major environmental, social and governance issues, you can support efforts to ensure participants prevent, mitigate and remedy adverse impacts on people and the environment and contribute positively to the communities in which they operate.
