Why are you here?
There are a few reasons that will work well for both of us:
1. You enjoy administrative tasks, you're creative and your eye for detail is second to none.
2. You're currently in an operational or marketing position - or a similar role that requires you to be an organisational wizard and an excellent proofreader - but you're ready to get stuck into something new.
3. You'd like to work for an organisation whose values align with yours - perhaps somewhere with a clear purpose or operating in an interesting sector.
Does this sound like you? Let's tell you more about it.
Firstly, we're a global recruitment business (c. 90 people) operating in the sustainability and climate change sectors. I'm sure this explains a little about why we're so busy - everyone is looking to tackle these problems head-on right now, but also need a recruitment partner that's well-versed in these markets.
Fortunately, we've been doing this a long time - for almost twenty years - so we know what our clients are looking to achieve and the solutions that will get them there. Our head office is in London - where you'd be based - but we also have offices in New York, Amsterdam and Singapore.
This is a hybrid position, and we ask that you work from our Chancery Lane office three days a week.
Now, if you were to join our marketing team as an assistant, what might your role look like on the day-to-day?
Your Key Responsibilities:
Content Management and Creation
Job posting
Posting job advertisements on our website & Linkedin - proofreading, formatting & ensuring that they end up in the right places at the right time
Creating social graphics, getting them approved by consultants and then sharing from our social channels
Making any text/image changes as needed
LinkedIn management
Maintaining engagement with our network by creating and posting social graphics to LinkedIn
Posting blogs and thought leadership to LinkedIn
Website content management
Populating web pages - we'll provide you with the content, we'lljust ask you to proofread it and put it where it belongs.
Graphic creation for internal comms (we have templates already- but we encourage creativity!)
Administrative Support
Ad/hoc administrative support as required for our marketing team
Ad/hoc document proofreading and formatting support - this can be in the form of Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and more
Ad/hoc design support for internal PowerPoint presentations
Ad/hoc event management support - creating materials and assisting on the day
Helping raise support tickets across our job posting and website platforms
Helping monitor our team email inbox and diverting queries appropriately
Collecting a professional biography & a temporary staff photo from new starters
Providing new starters with company LinkedIn header photos and company descriptions
Liaising with our photographer to schedule staff photo sessions for new starters and existing staff, as and when necessary
To succeed in this role, what will we need from you?
You'll need to be organised, with exceptional attention to detail: Your ability to manage your time effectively and keep on top of your daily tasks will be two of your greatest assets. We're also often the last line of defence for errors here in marketing, so if you have an eye for detail, you'll excel in this role.
You'll need to be people-oriented: You will speak to consultants and business stakeholders day in, day out, so you'll need to be great at building and maintaining relationships.
You'll need to be naturally curious: 'The way we've always done things' isn't necessarily the way we need to continue doing them. We're always open to new ideas, and we'd love for you to get curious about new ways to achieve the same desired outcomes.
You'll need to be determined: When it comes to problem-solving, we love to get creative and think outside the box. If you have a strong resolve to overcome challenges and if you persist until the job is done well, you'll fit right in.
You'll need to be a strong communicator: You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This includes an eye for grammar, spelling, etc.
You'll need to be tech-savvy: You don't need to be an expert, and we'll teach you the ropes, but you'll be immersed in our marketing tech platforms. As long as you can learn and adapt quickly, you'll do just fine!
The following skills will also be important:
Required:
Excellent IT skills
Ability to be flexible in a progressive and vibrant culture
Strong when working as part of a team, but also able to work independently
Ability to take initiative, communicate with confidence and take ownership of your tasks
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and compellingly, with a strong command of grammar, style, and tone
Strong aesthetic sense and the ability to recognise high-quality visuals
Desirable:
Experience in the recruitment or marketing industry
Experience with any of the following tech software/platforms: Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, the Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, Vimeo
Experience providing administrative support for larger projects
