Head of Commercialization (Clean Fuels & CDR)

Acre has been retained by an international VC focused on early-stage innovations in Cleantech as they look to build out a new platform in North America. Our client specializes in early-stage endeavors working with founder-type scientists and helping them turn their ideas into high-impact ventures - to date they've launched over tens of companies with many more in development, raising hundreds of millions of dollars and holding a current portfolio valuation of close to half a billion.

Recognizing that FOAK cleantech founders often need a lot more support than pure capital, this new platform they have created in partnership with another major VC in this world, and a globally recognized climate-tech accelerator will build a bridge to commercialization, providing hands-on support for project development and an ecosystem of partners for founders to tap into including EPC partners, off-takers, financiers, etc. with a heavy focus on CDR and Clean Fuels.

The Head of Commercialization will be one of the lead executives in this platform, working closely with the CEO to evaluate the viability of FOAK technologies, and helping the portfolio to develop strategies for scale-up, origination, and project financing.

Key Success Criteria:

• Proven track record either helping to scale or assessing scalability for innovative energy or industrial technologies. The 'assessment' experience would likely be from working at an investor, accelerator, or large multinational for acquisition.

• An ideal background would include experience negotiating offtake agreements for novel energy solutions, particularly fuels.

• Alternatively, you may have a strong technical background in developing these solutions coupled with a proven track record in commercial roles.

• Strong understanding of market dynamics for the North American Cleantech industry.
