Acre is partnered with a leading organisation in the global chemicals sector, seeking a dynamic Global Director of ESG to drive their vision of sustainability excellence, setting new industry standards worldwide. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a high level of strategic execution, collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, and alignment with regional ESG managers to achieve ambitious sustainability objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.
The Global Director of ESG will be pivotal in embedding sustainable practices across all aspects of the organisation, from operations to stakeholder engagement. By establishing a cohesive ESG strategy and developing a culture of sustainability, this leader will drive meaningful transformation, helping us achieve ambitious environmental and social targets and improve our standing in global sustainability assessments. This role's influence will shape both internal practices and external perceptions, building credibility in the market and fostering stakeholder trust.
You will be responsible for:
Driving the ESG Strategy: Develop and implement a forward-looking ESG strategy, setting measurable KPIs to position the company as an industry leader.
Global Execution and Data Management: Oversee ESG integration across operations, track key performance metrics, and maintain strong ESG ratings.
Build Stakeholder Engagement and Culture: Act as ESG advocate, foster company-wide sustainability awareness, and ensure transparent, compliant reporting.

You will already have:
10+ years in ESG within a global setting, ideally in chemicals; proven success in executing comprehensive ESG strategies and managing key sustainability ratings.
Leadership experience in a matrix organisation with a record of mentoring teams, securing stakeholder support, and uniting diverse interests toward ESG goals.
Strong business acumen in sustainability, project management, and regulatory trends; excellent communicator deeply committed to social and environmental responsibility.
