Acre is delighted to be partnering with a lifestyle brand, with positive impact being a central focus, to hire a new Director of Sustainability. The organisation is committed to doing things the right way by responsibly sourcing many of its materials, putting people and planet at the front and centre of its strategy and providing quality, desirable products to conscious consumers.

Based in Gloucestershire, this role is 100% office-based. You will be a member of the executive team, work closely with the founder and occasionally deputise for them in some aspects of their role. Sustainability is at the heart of the group's focus and embodying this day to day will be key to success.

You will:

  • Clearly define the Sustainability strategy, outline a roadmap and execute across environmental and social pillars

  • Lead the Net-Zero strategy, supporting renewable energy projects to decarbonise across all three scopes

  • Be an ambitious thinker, engaging stakeholders at all levels to achieve sustainability and continue their transformation towards becoming a sustainable business

  • Represent the business externally at events to continue to drive progression amongst the group and the wider sector

This will suit someone entrepreneurial, who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the day-to-day as well as progress with the sustainability strategy and steering the organisation in the right direction.

Your experience:

  • Be an exceptional communicator with experience working with governmental boards, advisory groups and thought leaders

  • Have an understanding of environmental sustainability, able to be hands-on operationally in these topics

  • Have a proven track record in developing and implementing a sustainability strategy for a consumer-facing organisation

  • Be able to operationalise sustainability internally, engage employees to start embedding it into their roles and communicate the message of sustainability externally

  • Be a proven leader, most likely with experience reporting into the board and be able to think commercially to drive the group forwards

You will have significant influence in an organisation dedicated to doing the right thing. If you're ambitious, eager to work in an organisation that values sustainability and a proven sustainability leader, get in touch to learn more with Lawrence Hallett at lawrence.hallett@acre.com.
