Are you a seasoned professional in carbon development looking for a meaningful role where you can drive global impact?
Acre is partnering with a pioneering impact-driven organisation that is seeking an Interim Carbon Development Consultant on an initial 3-month assignment to lead and oversee carbon-related initiatives, ensuring the successful registration of carbon programmes with the Gold Standard for Global Goals or Verra. You will provide essential support while the organisation seeks a permanent longer-term fit, meaning there could be opportunity to extend or go permanent for the right candidate, if desired.

Their flagship projects include providing safe drinking water to over 4000 communities and delivering clean cooking solutions to over 120,000 households, reducing CO2 emissions and improving lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all carbon programmes, ensuring successful certification and issuance of carbon credits
Lead the development and implementation of carbon management strategies
Ensure compliance with sustainability standards and protocols
Collaborate with national teams and stakeholders to gather data and documentation
Drive the development of new carbon project initiatives and revenue-sharing programmes
Build strategic partnerships with investors, NGOs, and carbon market platforms
Strengthen business growth by liaising with donors, managing key partnerships, and optimising funding opportunities
Oversee the development of data collection software and carbon project databases
Provide strategic insights to shape the organisation's future direction in carbon development
About You:
10+ years experience, with at least 5 years in the carbon sector
Strong understanding of carbon offset methodologies (Gold Standard, Verra, etc.)
Proven project management skills, including budgeting and execution
Experience in financial analysis, carbon market trends, and revenue forecasting
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and leadership capabilities
Experience with carbon data management tools; French language skills are a plus
A 'can-do' attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic, start-up environment
