Acre is partnered with Forest Stewardship Council Investment & Partnerships (FSC I&P), a nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington, whose mission aligns with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the world's leading and most trusted voluntary forest certification system. As a close partner of the FSC family, FSC I&P builds partnerships alongside the global Forest Stewardship Council network and others accelerating the protection of healthy and resilient forests.

FSC I&P is seeking a full-time managing director of Moja Global to lead the transition to a self-sustaining organization that supports the global application of open-source software by a broad range of users. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated director who understands the role and potential of open-source solutions to tackle the challenge of global climate change and to build a self-sustaining organization to achieve its mission.

This is a full-time, salaried and exempt position. The position will be hired by and be administratively accountable to FSC I&P (based in Seattle, Washington, USA), and operationally supervised by the Moja Global Management Board.

About Moja Global

Moja Global is a not-for-profit, collaborative project that brings together a community of experts to develop open-source software that allows users to accurately and affordably estimate greenhouse gas emissions and removals from agriculture, forestry, and other land uses (AFOLU sector). The project's members aim to support the widest possible use of credible emissions estimation software.

Moja Global's mission is to support ambitious climate action by developing pioneering, open-source software - including the groundbreaking FLINT software - to help users accurately and affordably estimate greenhouse gas emissions and removals.

About FSC I&P

In the early 1990s, an international group of leaders in business, human rights, and the environment came together to develop standards for managing forests. These visionaries were responding to the many dire threats to the world's forests.

FSC certification tells you that the products you buy come from a forest that is responsibly managed according to a robust set of guidelines benefiting the environment, economy, and society. The standards include limiting the number of trees removed, restricting highly hazardous pesticides, and protecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples as well as wildlife and habitats.

FSC I&P is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 2016 with a commitment to amplify responsible forest management efforts and catalyze innovative solutions. FSC I&P collaborates with mission-aligned organizations to deliver on its goal of Forests for All Forever.
