Movers and shakers in the sustainability and ESG space are waiting with bated breath to see if they have won an award for their impact on the planet.
The Global Sustainability & ESG Awards 2024, which will be held in London on September 10, sees a shortlist of nominees including Schneider Electric and Asahi Europe and International.
The selected businesses up for nomination – 60 were shortlisted in total - have demonstrated considerable and inspiring progression in ESG and sustainability.
Schneider Electric, nominated for Sustainable Consultancy Award, is the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation and was named the World’s Most Sustainable Company from a list devised by Time magazine and data gathering firm Statista.
One of the highlights of Schneider Electric’s sustainability efforts for that particular award is its innovative Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program which drives and measures the company’s progress towards global sustainability targets between 2021-2025. These contribute to six long-term commitments that cover all ESG facets.
In addition, the company has worked to help customers reduce their carbon emissions, with 553 million tonnes of CO2 saved and avoided since 2018.
This year’s sustainability and ESG awards, to be held at the Business Design Centre in the UK capital, aims for the winners to showcase their achievements and help others to drive change for a better future.
The judging panel is comprised of experts including:
•Adam Elman, Head of EMEA Sustainability, Google EMEA
•Jane Goodland, Group Head of Sustainability, LSEG
•Rahul Sareen, GM, Sustainability Solutions, AWS
•Angela Hultberg, Global Sustainability Director, Kearney
More than 400 nominees are expected to attend the event which has more than 15 award categories such as Sustainability Strategy, ESG Programme, Net Zero and Future Leader.
Harco Leertouwer, Executive Director – EMEA, at Acre, said: “Sustainability and ESG awards can be an effective way of not only recognising the businesses focused on helping to meet the targets necessary to fight the climate crisis, but also sharing knowledge and best practice.
“Stakeholders are increasingly holding businesses to account by demanding information surrounding the origination and journey of the products they purchase - transparency is a vital component of global supply chains for a sustainable business model.
“Businesses who want to accelerate their sustainability efforts can learn from one another by collaborating, communicating, innovating and driving solutions and these events can play host to that.”
Acre is proud to partner with businesses such as Schneider Electric for talent development and recruitment purposes.
