Europe is in a prime position to accelerate the transition towards a decarbonized economy through the ‘alphabet soup’ of new regulations and incentives, but how can businesses avoid feeling overwhelmed?

Understanding each directive can be a challenge for organizations but a specialist event will bring the opportunity to delve into the new reporting regulations to equip businesses with the knowledge to navigate and digest each one.

The Sustainability Europe 2024 event will unpack all regulations from the CSRD (Corporate Social Reporting Directive) to SFDR (Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation).

The event aims to inform and enhance future sustainability reporting, look at net zero and investment strategies, while encouraging businesses to interact with their industry counterparts.

While the regulations can throw up new challenges for businesses, they will also unlock opportunities in alignment with company sustainability agendas.

The event, running from Sept 30-Oct 1, is expected to unite more than 500 leaders from across government, corporate and finance functions who are looking to meet the regulations and accelerate climate action.

This year’s highlights include speakers from Ellen McArthur Foundation and SBTi.

The event, to be held in Houndsditch, London, will be split into four stages: sustainability reporting, net zero, investment and impact.

The sustainability stage includes preparation for CSRD compliance, collecting accurate data, solutions when reporting and building authentic communications with all stakeholders,

Delegates attending the net zero stage can expect to learn how to carve the pathway to net zero operations. This will include how to innovate to decarbonize, manage carbon emissions effectively, integrate new technologies and navigate the subsequent costs, while ensuring all operations are run efficiently. This stage will also help cover the complexities surrounding high-quality data and carbon strategies.

Over on the investment stage, there will be a focus on regulation-driven data transparency to help maximize sustainable RoI, with insights into overcoming potential challenges surrounding data when making investment decisions.

The sustainable investment landscape is constantly changing and so the stage will act as a platform to help businesses gain knowledge of how investors remain at the forefront and proactively plan and assign resources.

There will be a focus on nature-based solutions and understanding how investors can play a key role in net zero targets by using engagement and stewardship.

The Reuters impact stage will see global leaders quizzed on the climate crisis and give CEOs and senior executives the opportunity to address critical issues and solutions.
