Acre is excited to assist Carrix - SSA Marine in building their sustainability team with the addition of an ESG Grants & Funding Manager. Carrix is one of the world's largest privately held marine terminal and yard operators, with 250 strategic locations on 5 continents. The maritime industry accounts for 3% of global GHG emissions and is an important part of global decarbonization efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change. This ESG Grants & Funding Manager will be crucial in accelerating Carrix - SSA Marine's sustainability efforts and the broader impact of the maritime industry by connecting available funding for decarbonization programs.

The Opportunity:

The Grants & Funding Manager will help accelerate the company's sustainability objectives by maximizing participation in relevant grant, incentive, funding, and tax programs. The position will assist in the development of funding proposals and help to ensure programs meet grant compliance and reporting requirements. The position will manage the full lifecycle of grants and ensure that funding requirements are met in project deployment and implementation. The role will also track and analyze the sustainability outcomes of implemented projects and develop best practices for internal stakeholders.

What you will do:

  • Research local, state, national and international grant funding opportunities by attending funding seminars and monitoring agency websites, and summarizing for internal audiences and determining applicability.

  • Conduct analysis of potential decarbonization projects and compare benefits of specific grant programs, and alignment with internal goals and deployment feasibility.

  • Collect information necessary from internal teams, terminal locations, and external partners to develop grant applications and/or content for grant applications by partner stakeholders.

  • Manage grant compliance timelines, requirements, and related documentation, working with internal and external stakeholders, and communicating requirements.

  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to catalogue ESG projects and share findings internally. Clearly communicates public funding opportunities and deadlines to the appropriate internal subject matter experts and departments.

  • Support the communication of grant projects to stakeholders by developing and maintaining resources on project financials and outcomes.

  • Manage and prepare grant reporting to grantor agencies.

  • Maintain and update the organization's grant compliance standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Once projects are being executed, continue to manage the grant and funding reporting requirements. Be accountable for any reporting deadlines, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on collecting information.

  • Develop and manage internal funding reports and tracking throughout project implementation.

  • Support Director-Sustainability and VP-Sustainability on relevant projects and initiatives.

Who you are:

  • Bachelors' degree in relevant specialty.

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience.

  • Prior experience with grant reporting and compliance preferred.

  • Understanding of the sustainability and zero emissions incentives and grants landscape required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

  • Strong project management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across internal and external audiences.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.

  • Experience with budgeting, accounting processes and auditing policies.

  • Experience and strong interest in supporting company initiatives around ESG and sustainability.

  • Prior industry experience in sustainable transportation or zero-emission project implementation helpful.

Work Environment:

  • Required hybrid work schedule, at least 3 days/week in office.

  • Occasional travel to corporate offices and terminal locations.
