Acre is delighted to be working with Sedex to identify a Director of Responsible Sourcing and Strategy; who will join a talented and ambitious team in their London HQ. Sedex is a global not-for-profit membership organisation and home to the world's largest collaborative platform for sharing responsible sourcing data on supply chains.

The successful candidate will be responsible for devising a visible roadmap for existing products and services for Sedex members and generating innovative new ideas to meet the member/market needs. You will be an exceptional strategic leader with a responsible sourcing skill set and a solid understanding of commercial drivers and stakeholder needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating a Sedex business growth strategy from market needs and converting it into a highly visible pipeline of new and updated member offerings
  • Managing a team to support stakeholder & content engagement with members and industry professional organisations
  • Engaging with members and external stakeholders to gain insight and direction on key trends
  • Supporting a new and highly professional Marketing and Communications Team, to champion the brand and manage the internal and external communications planning, development, implementation and analysis
  • Representing, promoting and acting as the ambassador for the aims, wishes and industry topics that Sedex represents and supports, on behalf of its members
  • Acting in an advisory role for Sedex account teams with members in brands, retailers, and supplier organisations
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable experience with mainstream social audit programs (BSCI, EICC, ICTI Care, SMETA, WRAP, SA8000, etc.) and familiarity with the overall operational management of social audit programmes
  • Senior stakeholder experience outside of the social audit programs space desirable, including Environment, Business Ethics, or Health and Safety
  • Excellent stakeholder credentials, having represented previous organisations at a senior level into C-suite, Government, NGO and international organisations.
  • Has worked at senior leadership and/or board level in relevant organisational structures
  • Previous on the ground experience and understanding of responsible sourcing or sustainability practices in sourcing countries
  • Leadership and experience of managing small to medium size teams, in SME style business, or not-for-profit organisation.
  • An awareness and familiarity with the role of marketing communications
