Our client is a fast-growing leader in the Dutch market, for utility scale BESS Projects. They are a local business who have recently secured investment from an international funding group. They have over 1 GW of projects in their pipeline, which is the biggest portfolio of utility scale battery projects in the country, they are also looking at international expansion in to neighbouring countries in the next few years.
For these reasons they are actively looking to expand their technical capability for a Lead Electrical Engineer.

Role:
Drive Innovation: Research and implement emerging technologies to enhance system performance and scalability, promoting continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure successful integration and delivery of BESS solutions.
System Optimization and Risk Management: Continuously improve BESS designs for energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness while identifying and mitigating potential technical risks.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all systems adhere to regulatory standards and prepare required documentation for grid interconnection and approvals.
Lead Electrical Design: Oversee the electrical design and integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Balance of Plant (BoP), ensuring system dimensioning, auxiliary power systems, grounding design, and SCADA architecture meet project requirements.
Technical Oversight: Provide guidance to EPC contractors through all project phases, ensuring compliance with international standards, safety regulations, and technical specifications.
Qualifications:
Extensive Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in the BESS, wind, or PV industry, with demonstrable expertise in large-scale energy storage projects.
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and multidisciplinary project experience. Familiarity with Dutch and/or German network codes, permitting processes, and technical documentation is advantageous.
Software Expertise: Experience with Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint) and energy system analysis software (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Acrobat, and Tableau is a plus.
Leadership and Communication: Strong communication skills and leadership abilities to foster teamwork and align with the company's values of reliability, ownership, and sustainability.
