Head of Corporate Responsibility and Stakeholder Communications

Responsible for overseeing corporate responsibility strategy and implementation for Telefónica UK (known to customers as O2), working with functional specialists to ensure we operated as a responsible business.
In addition, I looked after our sustainability communications and engagement to ensure we not only communicated our activity but actively sought stakeholder views in the ongoing management of our programmes. As part of this role I led the development and launch of O2’s first sustainability plan, the Think Big Blueprint.
Finally, I was responsible for CR co-ordination and governance across our European businesses.
Corporate Responsibility and Reputation Manager

A pan-European role, I worked closely with Head Office in Madrid and all O2 businesses in Europe, responsible for CR reporting, reputational management and CR issue development and co-ordination. I drove improvements in accessibility and digital inclusion across Europe.
Corporate Responsibility Reporting Manager
(January 2006 - December 2007)
Responsible for project managing the production of centralised European CR reports, managing all suppliers, internal stakeholders and external verification while ensuring timely and accurate delivery. I then managed the transition to global-local reporting, coaching colleagues and creating an online toolkit to enable O2 businesses to produce local market reports.

My role was to manage strategic and tactical Public Relations (PR) activity in a culturally diverse environment – managing a network of PR agencies, briefing journalists and providing counsel to senior management. I also co-ordinated reactive responses to sensitive incidents and managed press office shifts.

With experience of leading a CR team in the information and communications technology sector, Emma is able to not only lead the development of CR strategy, but also see through its successful implementation. Previous roles covered CR in the UK and across Europe and touched on most aspects of responsible business, including governance, policy, communications, and stakeholder engagement. She now helps clients with sustainability communications, risk and reputation management, and project management.
