Acre are pleased to be working on this retained search for one of Europe's largest asset owners who are currently seeking a Responsible Investment Director to join the team. This is a key hire as they look to build on the organisation's long term strategy of investing for long term public benefit alongside investment returns.

We are looking for an engaging and innovative leader who can conceptualize and implement a coherent narrative which brings their responsible investment strategy to life with both the board and their members.

This person will also be the fund's external figurehead for responsible investing, ensuring the investment teams have the necessary tools an insight to integrate ESG and engagement successfully in their investment decisions and processes

Key responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of the fund's Responsible Investment (RI) strategy
  • Develop processes and governance policies Engagement -monitor and direct engagement activities to meet obligations under the fund's RI principles.
  • Promote the fund as a leading figure within the RI marketplace through public speaking, publications, leading collaborative industry initiatives, engagement with the regulator and building a wide-ranging network.
  • Work with communications team to build a consistent message on RI for external and internal stakeholders, Work with the Investment team on integrating RI policies and increase understanding across the broader organisation.
  • Oversee the monitoring of and engagement with external fund managers with regard to their RI approach to ensure their alignment with fund's RI principles and policy and internal consistency.
