Principles for Responsible Investment

Acre is working exclusively with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) on an exciting new Head of Governance Issues role, based in London. 

The United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) is an international network of investors working together to put the six Principles for Responsible Investment into practice. Its goal is to understand the implications of sustainability for investors and support signatories to incorporate these issues into their investment decision making and ownership practices. In implementing the Principles, signatories contribute to the development of a more sustainable global financial system.

Principles for Responsible Investment

The Head of Governance Issues role, is a Team Leader position with management responsibility for content, planning, staff and budget. The position reports to the Director of Investment Practices, ESG & Engagement. It will be a very visible role externally due to the PRI's central role in this rapidly developing sector.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and shaping PRI strategy on the intersection between Corporate Governance and Responsible Investment issues. Sets strategic objectives for PRI's work on governance in liaison with directors.
  • Coordinating and participating in activities and projects on investment relevant governance issues across teams within PRI, including; Investment Practices, Policy & Research and Reporting and Assessment teams
  • Communicating strategy to internal and external stakeholders and defining work priorities for the team.
  • Coordinating and developing internal expertise on governance issues such as core corporate governance issues, corporate tax responsibility, cybersecurity, anti-bribery and corruption, proxy voting etc.
  • Leading investor activities (including engagement) on governance issues by PRI signatories.
  • Identifying and participating in relevant initiatives that contribute to strategic objectives for PRI's work on governance.
  • Undertakes proactive outreach and maintains relations with PRI stakeholders and partner organisations on governance issues
  • Sets up, refreshes and maintains regular contact with expert Governance committee of PRI signatories
  • To be PRI's spokesperson on Governance and Responsible Investment related issues
  • Business planning - working with the Director of Investment Practice & Reporting, to create it each year and then ensuring team deliver against it.
  • Managing the workloads of a team of 2 and the delivery of projects.
