Acre is pleased to be working in partnership with a leading UK utilities firm to identify a Health and Safety Advisor for an eight-month contract (fixed term or day rate). Reporting directly into the Head of Health and Safety, this person will be joining an established health and safety team at an exciting time as it drives forward a refined Health and Safety strategy. The successful candidate will have a pivotal role, delivering against the key action points in this change programme.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and updating existing Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Liaising with key contractors to ensure their processes are in alignment with the values of the organisation
  • Delivering against objectives in the organisation's Health and Safety change programme
  • Supporting the wider Health and Safety team to drive compliance across the business

This person must display a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to get involved in projects and deliver within set timescales. They will be expected to effectively manage and prioritise their own work-load, with administrative support from other members of the team.

Person specification:

  • NEBOSH or NCRQ Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in utilities, process manufacturing, engineering or energy-from-waste
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of regulatory safety would be desirable
