We are working with a leading, global high street retailer to add capacity to an expanding European Ethical Trade team. The business has a long-term commitment to Ethical Trade and are recruiting for an Ethical Trade Executives to ideally be based in or near Bucharest. Reporting into the Ethical Trade Manager (Middle East), and working closely with the existing Turkey team, this is a stimulating and challenging opportunity to work closely with the regional suppliers to support ethical working programmes

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate new factory approval, in the context of labour standards and ethical trade
  • Ensure on-going audits are performed in a timely fashion, and results communicated appropriately
  • Respond to general queries from buyers, sourcing, ET Field Teams, suppliers and factories on matters concerning labour standards and ethical trade, escalating where necessary
  • Liaising with the Database Team to facilitate timely and accurate recording of audit results
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of development and changes to company requirements in matters concerning labour standards and ethical trade

The successful candidate will be a self-starting team-player, able to work autonomously and to travel regionally, with an interest in the next steps beyond the auditing process.

In addition, you will have:

  • Experience in social auditing, SMETA, SA8000; ideally having worked closely with, or for, a leading global brand
  • A working knowledge of local and regional labour issues and/or legislation
  • An analytical and detail-focussed approach, proficient in MS Office applications; experienced in working with and reporting from databases
  • Effective communication skills in an international workplace including fluent business English
