Acre is excited to partner exclusively with a global leader in technology and R&D to secure an Energy and Utilities Manager. Specialists in robotics, space, cybersecurity, and defence, our client works at the cutting edge of science and engineering across 50 sites around the world. The Energy and Utilities Manager will join the property team, working at a group level to develop and deliver a business wide energy strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating CAPEX investment into energy performance programmes, especially for their new property development, alongside responsibility of OPEX >£15m utilities budget in the UK
  • Maintaining the businesses ISO150001 standards, taking into account new property development alongside energy consumption within complex global sites such as laboratories, workshops, offices, radar facilities, and testing grounds
  • Management of corporate reporting and compliance such as; CRC, thermal/electrical metering regulations, and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive
  • Engaging stakeholders across the business from senior management through to localised 'energy champions' to build the profile of energy management, coupled with deployment of an effective communications programme
  • Line managing a technical project engineer and bureau/validation analyst to deliver on energy objectives
We are looking for a candidate with a robust technical understanding of energy performance in buildings, and the ability to build relationships and encourage collaboration in addressing these challenges.

Requirements include:

  • Experience in energy management, with a knowledge of demand reduction and data management measures such as BMS optimisation and energy metering
  • A proven track record of delivering ISO 50001 in a multi-site environment, with knowledge of relevant legislation in energy and water
  • Sound understanding of utilities procurement and familiarity with bureau software such as TEAM Sigma
  • The ability to communicate effectively and influence across a diverse and geographically dispersed organisation
