Our client, a highly-regarded retailer with a strong commitment to sustainability, is looking to hire a Sustainability Manager who will have responsibility for driving several key chemicals programmes in their strategy.
The company has ambitious targets, and with demonstrable commitment across the business, has already achieved many of these.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to significantly influence the delivery of key projects and to:
Develop and implement innovative systems for the capture of data relating to chemical use Act as subject matter expert on chemical legislation, providing guidance on complying with product requirements Manage and monitor the SVHC list, and providing expertise on substitutes Engage extensively with both internal and external stakeholders, including the management of key relationships with industry bodies Prepare and present regular reports to the business on performance against timber and chemicals targets

Degree (or equivalent) qualification in a scientific area, ideally within a product related subject Practical experience in managing chemicals compliance programmes within the consumer product environment, including REACH Previous retail or manufacturing experience within a large organisation Experience managing quality or compliance systems
