Acre has been engaged by a FTSE 100 listed telecoms giant to source a Principal Manager of Systems and Services to play a leading role in the refinement of energy usage and management globally. This role will report into the Director of Energy Performance and sits in a bespoke team of 5 specialist energy strategists.
Our client currently consumes over £1,000,000,000 in energy per annum. Despite an 80% improvement on efficiency in the last 6 years, the diversification of services across the group has led to an increase in energy and data usage. Energy is critical to run their global networks and data centres: every year, usage is more than 6.2 billion kWh of energy to run 300,000 mobile base stations, 50,000 servers, 1 million km of fibre and 350,000 fixed access nodes in 30 countries globally. If our client were a country, they would be placed between Kenya and Bolivia in terms of electricity consumption.
Energy Innovation has therefore been selected as one of three sustainable business transformation objectives and a central energy function has been created in Group Technology.
Role Profile: the successful candidate will head up the development, delivery and operation of the energy data and control systems/services to enable our client to effectively reduce energy consumption, validate its energy spending and will be providing energy insights to the wider global business.
Lead the business case and requirement capture for energy systems covering energy smart metering, monitoring and controls systems across 26 markets globally Align vision and road map with energy bill validation and network operations tools and processes which are led by procurement, finance, operations, technology and property Lead internal and external teams to ensure development and delivery of the shared energy service model that is competitive to external service providers Ensure that energy data and control systems and services a re delivered to the agreed service levels
Your Profile: The role holder will come from an energy management or systems background and will be self-motivated and able to set their own goals and targets. You will also feel comfortable in working with dispersed international teams and will have excellent influencing skills in order to drive the new transformational programme throughout all of our client's global footprint.
