Acre has been engaged by one of the UK's largest energy producers Drax Group plc, to identify a Group Head of Corporate Responsibility to devise the group's CR strategy and to lead on its CR activities, communication and impact.
Drax Group is playing a vital role in helping change the way energy is generated, supplied and used as the UK moves to a low carbon future.
The Group Head of CR will provide strategic leadership to the organisation; developing targets, plans and management processes to translate CR strategies into operational delivery; while helping to shape the reputation of the corporate brand - internally and externally - through the company's activities.
Key Responsibilities include:
Defining Drax Group's strategic CR approach, responsibilities, priorities and targets in line with changing business and sustainability priorities Generating new partnerships and building on existing relationships with key stakeholders, NGO's, Civil Society and the local communities Developing a new CR programme in partnership with selected charity partners; devising initiatives with a focus on schools, community development and biodiversity Building the corporate citizenship profile internally and externally by setting direction for responsible communication and stakeholder engagement priorities Driving employee engagement through local community engagement and involving employees in implementing the leadership position on social impact Identifying and delivering customer-focused initiatives; ensuring transparency, good business practice and a commitment as a Group to do the right thing
You will have experience working in a large corporation, developing and implementing CR initiatives with a global footprint, ideally in a regulated or heavy industry.
In addition you will have:
Broad working knowledge of CR megatrends and issues with experience of developing the business case for change A customer focused approach. You will be consumer driven; connecting the function internally and externally to anticipate stakeholder expectations and understand stakeholder needs and concerns A strategic approach; anticipating future trends and opportunities for CR impact, engagement and communication which can be translated into actionable strategies and plans for the Group Strong leadership experience and a collaborative approach; able to influence and engage with colleagues across the group and up to a senior executive level A proven track record with a results focus. You will have built an externally recognised CR programme from scratch with lasting impacts; driving the CR reputation based on innovation and strong stakeholder management skills
