Acre is working with a well-regarded consultancy to add a Principal Hydrologist to their growing team. The ideal candidate would become a member of the consultancy’s water team working across a broad spectrum of areas, including:
Freshwater policy research and development
Environmental impact assessment and associated water quality and flood risk assessments
Regional strategic flood risk support, flood risk appraisal, planning and development risk
Business risk assessments associated with the water environment
Climate change adaptation & business continuity
Our client is seeking a senior specialist with a broad range of experience in a consultancy or regulatory organisations with particular emphasis on EIA, flood risk assessment planning and development risk elements of project work.
The ideal candidate will have:
Significant skills in water environment management in a statutory or consultancy environment Detailed understanding of flood risk assessment, current legislation, policy and emerging trends (FRA, FCA, SFRA)
Experience of planning and development control in relation to flooding issues
Understanding of flood risk modelling best practise, relative merits of modelling systems to be used
Best practice in the mitigation of flood impacts
Experience of the development of climate change adaptation strategies in relation to flood risk
