Reporting to the UK Executive Group I held the role of National Head of H&S from May 2011 to December 2014.
My key responsibilities included setting and deployment of a H&S Road Map with the Executive Group and monitoring the successful progression of its implementation.
I represented the company during interaction with key clients, trade bodies and the national regulator.
I developed a team of well respected H&S professionals who supported the line management in deploying the day-to-day responsibility for management of H&S.
The H&S team resources were allocated on a key risk basis preventing potentially problematic relationships reporting into geographic or divisional operational leaders.
I co-wrote, developed and launched a Hearts and Minds engagement activity to raise the inclusion of all employees in H&S decision making and change.
I co-wrote a highly successful Visible Felt Leadership course for all directors and middle managers within the business. The training and consequential culture change was recognised as one of the most influential H&S programmes ever deployed within the business.
In addition, between February 2014 and November 2014, I held the role or Regional OHS Coordinator for the US, Canada and UK business units, reporting to the Business Unit CEO.
This additional role was based upon a programme of exchange visits which I conducted across the three countries and the implementation of national OHS Road Maps which were created as an output from the visits. The purpose of this programme was to share the significantly more mature levels of H&S that had been achieved in the UK with the other countries.

Reporting to the divisional Managing Director, I managed a team of 5 H&S Advisors supporting road surfacing and public realm civil projects.
Working with the Managing Director and his team, I supported the development of a business strategy for H&S and its deployment across all of the regions of operation.
Working with national trade bodies, I developed nationally approved safe working approaches to high risk work activities.
A key achievement was the simplification of the core risk assessment programme to ensure effective and easy to understand and use risk assessments were in use day-to-day.
I led the development and roll-out of an Incident Investigation standard across 300 locations to standardise the company approach to this essential topic.
I moved on from this role when I was promoted to national Head of H&S.

Reporting to the European/Asia H&S Director I was responsible for the creation of company standards and training packages and their deployment into the Beverage Can business.
I initiated new auditing activities in the Chinese and Indian operations and a follow up processes to review progress.
I was responsible for the development of the EHS community via workshops and best practice sharing.

In addition to assurance activities, I was responsible for deploying performance improvement activities including Visible Felt Leadership Training and the launch of new corporate standards and reporting tools.
Prior to finishing this role, I completed the successful procurement of an outsourced Global EHS Assurance programme with a global consultancy business.

In addition to Assurance activities, I was responsible for supporting the development of and deploying performance improvement activities including Visible Felt Leadership Training and the launch of new corporate standards and reporting tools.
I introduced a new technical rigour to the EHS Assurance process, including a formal follow-up process and developed a new EHS due diligence standard.
