Claire joined advertising giant Dentsu Aegis Network’s (DAN) Global CSR Team in 2016 as they were embarking on a new and ambitious CSR strategy, Future Proof 2020. Her role is to manage the Community activity across DAN’s 40,000-person global network, which involves supporting the 62 countries in the network with their locally led community activities; creating a volunteering culture for the global functional teams; and delivering Route to Good, the company’s CSR Leadership Development Programme.
Claire has supported the firm’s mission to grow purposeful skilled volunteering by developing programmes and projects in collaboration with the global functional teams. These include Pioneers 2020, a virtual mentoring scheme connecting Global Operational Finance staff with students at a school close to their outsourcing centre in India; a pro-bono micro-site building project for the Technology team in support of a homeless charity; and a partnership connecting the Global Legal network with academic institution SOAS.
Claire has also worked with country level CSR champions to support their unique approaches towards the Community agenda. Relationship building has often been achieved virtually over Skype, but with dedicated trips out to various countries in the DAN network, meeting with local CEOs to drive engagement and backing for CSR. With Claire’s support and influencing, some European markets such as Switzerland have since dedicated paid resource towards CSR; a critical success factor to achieving traction around CSR.
